Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (Contractor/Part-Time)

Location: Anywhere (100% Virtual/Remote)

Are you an expert in dog behaviour and a CSAT (Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer)?

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a Separation Anxiety behaviour consultant on a contractor basis.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing initial, paid-for consultations for our clients struggling with separation anxiety
  • Quoting on and signing up clients to our Platinum Support monthly subscriptions, which includes check-in meetings, video/data log review, and your bespoke prepared missions
  • Responding to client inquiries via email and periodically phone in a timely manner
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance all aspects of our operations – teaching, curriculum, marketing, internal processes, and training techniques
  • Investing in continuing education by reading books, watching DVDs and webinars, and attending training conferences
  • Working service industry hours, as some of our clients may only be able to meet evenings and weekends.

 

All Candidates Should Have:

  • 1-2 years experience working as a dog training instructor working with pet dog owners
  • Case studies/references of past success coaching clients to help dogs with separation anxiety
  • Post Secondary education consisting of a college diploma or degree
  • Reliable and fast Internet access, and a work environment conducive to holding professional Zoom meetings with our clients
  • Solid computer skills with apps such as Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Drive, etc.), Zoom meetings, Slack, and Dropbox.
  • Completion of the Malena DeMartini Separation Anxiety Training Certificate Program (you are a CSAT!)
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

Ideal Candidates Have:

  • Additional certifications from the Karen Pryor Academy (KPA CTP), Pat Miller Academy, or Jean Donaldson’s Academy for Dog Trainers
  • Testing certifications such as CDPT-KA
  • 3+ years experience working as a dog training instructor with a separation anxiety consulting focus, either self-employed or as an employee of a reputable positive reinforcement dog training company
  • Confidence on the phone and over Zoom speaking to prospective clients and managing a consultative sales process
  • Extensive experience presenting and teaching to groups and audiences
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge on behaviour modification for fear, anxiety, and aggression issues (Leash reactivity, Separation Anxiety, Resource Guarding, etc.) and have case study examples of successful outcomes with their own dogs, or clients’ dogs
  • Have extensive CEUs from attending events such as ClickerExpo, APDT Annual Education Conference, etc.
  • Titled their own dogs in dog sports such as Agility, Rally Obedience, etc.
